A good historical classification does not necessarily mean that bathing is safe today.

MiCharco does not carry out real-time water measurements.

The information shown may be based on official historical monitoring data, published incidents, official classifications and other publicly available information.

Conditions at a bathing area can change after the latest available data.

MiCharco scores, categories and assessments are informative interpretations based on the available data. They are not pollution measurements, microbiological analyses or health rulings.

Always distinguish between the official classification, published by the competent authority, and the MiCharco assessment, which is MiCharco's interpretation of the available data.

Where MiCharco combines several sources or applies its own methodology, the result is a derived assessment produced using MiCharco's published methodology.

Where the information shown on MiCharco differs from information published by a competent authority, the official information always prevails.

Users must always respect:

• bathing prohibitions
• beach closures
• flags
• local signs and signage
• lifeguard instructions
• town council notices
• instructions from health authorities

MiCharco aims to keep information accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that every item is complete, free of errors or updated immediately.

There may be delays between an official announcement and its appearance on MiCharco.

This includes closures, reopenings, incidents, new laboratory results and classification changes.

MiCharco may use or link to information published by public authorities, news organisations and other external sources.

MiCharco does not control third-party websites or publications and is not responsible for their continued availability. Information obtained from external sources may contain errors, omissions or later corrections.

Where possible, MiCharco identifies and links to the original source so users can verify the underlying information directly.

MiCharco reuses and presents information published by public authorities and other official sources. Where applicable, MiCharco identifies the original source and the date or latest update available from that source.

MiCharco may reorganise, summarise, compare or interpret published information to make it easier to understand, but does not intend to alter or misrepresent the meaning of the original data.

References to public authorities, their names, logos, datasets or publications do not imply that they participate in, sponsor, approve or endorse MiCharco.
