Privacy policy
MiCharco is an independent, non-profit information project. This policy explains in plain language what data is processed when you use this website, and why.

What data we process
MiCharco needs no account and has no contact form. Only the following data is processed:
- Emails you voluntarily send us, including your sender address and the content of your message (questions, corrections or suggestions).
- Your cookie preference, stored in your browser's local storage.
- Your language preference, stored in your browser's local storage.
- Technical data any web server generates when serving a page (such as IP address, date and time, and browser type), used to operate and secure the site.
- Aggregate usage data via Google Analytics, only if you have given consent.
Why we process it
- To respond to the messages you send us.
- To operate the website and keep it secure and stable.
- To understand how the website is used in aggregate, where analytics consent has been given.
Legal basis
- Emails: legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Site operation and security: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Analytics and non-necessary cookies: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Analytics
MiCharco uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website usage (most-visited pages, traffic over time). Analytics is optional: it is not necessary to run the site, and nothing is loaded or collected before your consent.
If you reject analytics, the site keeps working exactly as normal.
Service providers
MiCharco uses selected service providers to operate, secure and maintain the website and to understand how it is used. Depending on the service, these providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request data, device or browser information, server logs, or information voluntarily submitted by users.
Cloudflare
Website delivery, content delivery network, DNS-related infrastructure, security, and protection against malicious traffic and abuse. May process IP address, request information, browser and device information, timestamps, and security and network logs. This processing is necessary for the secure and reliable operation of MiCharco.
Lovable (MiCharco hosting and backend infrastructure)
Hosting and operating the MiCharco website, backend functionality, database operations and technical infrastructure. May process IP addresses, technical logs and, where applicable, information voluntarily submitted through the website.
Google Analytics
Aggregate website usage statistics, provided by Google Ireland Limited. Analytics is only activated subject to your consent where legally required; if you reject or withdraw it, nothing is loaded or collected.
Email services
MiCharco uses technical email services for operational and contact communications: an email delivery provider for automated system messages, and Hostinger for hosting the hola@micharco.org mailbox. This may involve processing the email address, sender and recipient information, message content and technical delivery metadata.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising purposes.
International data transfers
Some of these providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is made using an applicable legal mechanism under the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, where required.
MiCharco has no independent information about the specific server locations used by each provider, so we do not claim that processing takes place exclusively within the European Union.
Retention
Data is kept only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was processed for, and for any period required by applicable law.
Your cookie preference stays in your browser until you change it or clear your browser data.
Your rights
You can exercise the rights of:
- access
- rectification
- erasure
- restriction of processing
- objection
- portability, where applicable
- withdrawal of consent, where processing relies on it

You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es) if you believe the processing does not comply with the rules.

This policy may be updated if the way the site works changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
