MiCharco collects, organises and contextualises public data. It does not take samples, run laboratory analyses or issue health rulings: it works with the information published by public administrations.

MiCharco organises and interprets published information from official sources. The data reflects the most recent information available from each source, but does not constitute real time water monitoring.

Where the information comes from

These are the main sources MiCharco uses. Every record always links the specific document or origin the data comes from.

Public register of discharge points, their type and their administrative status. The basis for the nearby-discharge information.

Municipal councils

Each town hall reports on its own territory: notices, flags, works and projects. MiCharco reads the public channels of the councils covering the zones it deals with.

Agreements, tender documents, announcements and official papers that accompany projects and measures. These are linked from each record rather than from a single portal.

News media

MiCharco uses established regional news outlets only when relevant information is not available from an official source. In those cases, the outlet is clearly identified as the publisher of the report, not as the authority behind the underlying facts. Media sources are used selectively for documented incidents, public statements or developments, and never to replace available official data.
