Sí se puede reports persistent spills of sewage and substances of unknown origin on Avenida del V Centenario and beside Tacoronte Health Centre. The party calls on the council to investigate their source and possible sanitation deficiencies, and to take cleaning and prevention measures, without treating the source as confirmed.

Icod de los Vinos council backed prioritising the comprehensive recovery project for Playa de San Marcos on 27 October; environmental evaluation remains pending. AECCM also recommends addressing sanitation and wastewater evacuation in the neighbourhood. These recommendations do not amount to approved or funded sanitation works.

Santa Cruz council is considering legal action over delays to the Buenos Aires treatment plant expansion. Separately, the Prosecutor’s report records an investigation into possible discharges linked to deficiencies at the plant and Cabo Llanos pumping station, reported by Canarias Ahora on 2 November. No judicial conclusion on responsibility or verified impact on a specific beach has been established.

According to information reported by El Día, Ayuntamiento de Garachico is allocating €340,000 to emergency works to rebuild the wall and protect the sewer exposed after Storm Therese, with a bypass to prevent discharges into the sea. Mayor Heriberto González says the works are in their final phase and announces that the promenade will reopen in three weeks.

The Cabildo de Tenerife has put out to tender the works for the interior sewer network of La Guancha town centre (phase II), with a budget of €1,288,000 excluding VAT and a 12-month execution period. Bids can be submitted until 28 October 2026. It is a municipal network project in the town centre; no link to any bathing area has been established.

After four temporary pollution closures in the last 60 days, the Directorate General of Public Health is considering a possible prolonged closure of Playa Jardín. According to its director general, José Díaz-Flores, this could be considered if the technical assessment finds the water unfit for bathing and the incidents have become recurrent. No decision has been taken.

The Consejo Insular de Aguas de Tenerife has tendered a contract to monitor and control discharges to the sea from ten of the island's sanitation, regeneration and desalination systems, for three years with possible extensions. It covers effluent quality, receiving water, sediments and organisms, pipeline inspection and exceptional discharges. The tender estimates around 1,572 possible overflow or exceptional discharge episodes as a planning figure, not confirmed incidents. Not all systems are operational yet: the future Valle de Güímar and Noreste desalination plants and the Metropolitan system are expected to join later, around 2028.
