Residents of Los Frailes have reported dust, noise and a lack of information during the expansion works at the Punta Brava treatment plant, according to Diario de Avisos. Concerns were also raised regarding earth movements, debris and possible effects on vegetation. Fundación Telesforo Bravo has announced that it will request information about the works and the corresponding permits.

The application concerning treatment and discharge of wastewater from the future Santa Úrsula vehicle inspection station is undergoing public consultation before any potential authorisation.

The procedure allows the technical documentation to be reviewed and representations to be submitted. This is an application under consideration: it is not an illegal discharge, detected pollution, or an authorisation already granted.

The Canary Islands Government has opened a draft Integrated Public Hydraulic Domain Regulation to public participation. It aims to consolidate and update rules on the public hydraulic domain, water use, discharge controls and sanctions.

Draft regulation under public consultation. It would replace and integrate three existing regulations, including the Discharge Control Regulation for the Protection of the Public Hydraulic Domain. The draft contains more than 350 articles and technical annexes. The public information period lasts one month from publication of the official notice. It has not been approved.

Entemanser has removed around 200 tonnes of wet wipes and other waste from the 34 wastewater pumping stations it operates in Adeje, Guía de Isora and Granadilla de Abona during 2026. The work has required more than 6,500 hours. A build-up of this waste can reduce pump efficiency, cause blockages and, in serious cases, contribute to sewage overflows or discharges.

Residents of El Pris have called for works to resolve the sanitation and wastewater and stormwater management problems they report on the coast. Their demands include network improvements and solutions to the discharge problems they point to around El Pris and Mesa del Mar.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife has completed the new Los Alisios wastewater pumping station, part of the Zero Discharge Plan, to improve the capacity and reliability of the south-west district sewer network and reduce the risk of coastal discharges.

The project involved an investment of approximately €7.18 million. The new station increases wastewater pumping capacity and forms part of a network of new infrastructure including works in Añaza, Acorán and elsewhere in the municipality. It is one measure within a broader municipal programme and does not mean every wastewater or discharge problem in Santa Cruz has automatically disappeared.
