Arico completed improvement works on the Abades wastewater outfall and associated sanitation infrastructure. The intervention was intended to improve operation, strengthen monitoring and control, and improve the environmental management of the coastal wastewater system.

Final stage of the Abades outfall renewal project approved in 2025. Completion of infrastructure works does not by itself indicate the current bathing water quality at Abades.

€1.82 million sanitation overhaul planned for Porís and Las Maretas

A sanitation upgrade was approved for Porís de Abona and Las Maretas, including improvements to the Porís pumping station, new pressure pipelines and four underground pumping stations in Las Maretas.

This infrastructure action does not in itself imply any change in current bathing-water quality.

Abades wastewater outfall and treatment system undergoes major renewal

Arico approved the first phase of a wider project to modernise the wastewater treatment, pumping and outfall infrastructure serving Abades. The works include replacement of the pressure pipeline to the treatment station, installation of flow meters and improvements to the wastewater treatment infrastructure. The full project is valued at approximately €500,765 and is intended to improve system control and reduce the risk of uncontrolled discharges to the marine environment.
