Los Realejos Town Council announced that Playa de El Socorro has reopened to bathing after new analyses confirmed the water quality, which the council described as "excellent". The beach had been closed on 23 September after routine checks detected a short-duration contamination episode with E. coli levels above the reference values.

Los Realejos council decreed a precautionary bathing ban on 23 September, after that morning's water-quality checks opened a short-duration contamination period.
